I remember my early days as a teacher in College of Arts, Patna. The college was so disciplined.

I saw Lt. Madho Sinha as head clerk of the college. From my student life he was the first man to enter the college and open the college office at 10:30 am. The day I joined the college and entered the office room I was surprised to see Lt. Madho Sinha left his chair and stood up. I asked him why? He said from today you are no more a student but a teacher of this college. What a gentleman!

We all teachers used to reach the Principle's room 5 to 10 minutes before 11:00 am. And as the bell rang we used to go to our respective classes.

One incident I still remember that Lt. Radhamohan Ji, who was the Principle of College of Arts, Patna stood at the entry gate of the college with his folded hands to receive the late comer students. It affected so much that the late comers thereafter started to come on time.

In 1966, Prof. Shyam Sharma joined the College of Arts, Patna as a Graphic teacher. Earlier, though Graphic Art was a compulsory subject for painting students and optional for Applied Art, there was no specialized teacher at that time. A large Litho machine and stones for Lithography and a small machine for etching prints were lying idle.

Prof. Shyam Sharma with the help of local mechanics brought those machines to life. It was so interesting that sometimes during vacations I also worked on Litho stones and brought out prints with direction received from Prof. Shyam Sharma. Gradually, both of us became close to each other and did many activities.
